Track History and Fun Facts: Situated outside of Grantville, Pennsylvania, a quiet residential area that houses 3,800 residents, Penn National Race Course celebrated its 34th season in 2006 and continues to build upon its foundation of history and tradition that has made it a major force in the sports and entertainment market in Central Pennsylvania. Penn National, which was originally owned and built by a group of Central Pennsylvania civic leaders, opened its doors to a crowd of 10,686 on August 30, 1972.
